CLASSROOM GUIDELINES

1- GRADES: GRADES ARE NOT GIVEN, THEY ARE EARNED. See separate sheet, Grading Policy, for specifics on how you can earn your grade and the percentages used to calculate your grade.

2-CLASSWORK: Credit will be given for work completed on time. A zero will be earned for any classwork not completed on time.

3-ABSENCES: If you are absent, it is your responsibility to find out what you missed and make it up.

Missed work can be made up after school on days designated by the teacher. Missed work can also be made up during students study halls. It is the responsibility of the student to arrange with the teacher to make up all missed assignments. All work must be made up within 2 calendar days of your return to school. This policy applies to legitimate excused absences only (not cuts or truancies).

4-CLASSROOM RULES:

    A-Come to class prepared. Your notebook, pen, and pencil must accompany you to class each day.

    B-There will be NO tardiness to class. All tardies will be marked late. After 5 minutes you must have a pass.

    C-One person speaks at a time during class. No calling out. If you have a question or a comment, be polite, raise your hand.

    D-Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. These types of behavior will result in disciplinary action which may include an office referral.

    E-Treat our classroom with respect. Put litter in its place. Make every effort to recycle whenever possible.

5-DISCIPLINE REFERRALS: Breaking of any classroom rule can result in a referral to the discipline office. Severely disruptive behavior will result in an immediate referral to the discipline office. A zero will be earned for any work missed during or due to the referral.

6-LAVATORY: Visit the lavatory either before or after class. Excessive requests for lavatory use during class time will result in limitations of lavatory usage during class.

7-COMPUTER EQUIPMENT: Handle computers with the utmost care, this includes you textbook. Always check your computer as soon as you enter class and report any problems to the teacher. Computer activities are serious learning activities. They are not to be used to e-mail friends or access the internet other than for school assignments. Any student removed from computer lab for failure to follow these rules will receive a zero for the days work.

8-SUBSTITUTES: Substitutes are to be treated as guests. Substitutes are instructed to write down the names of disruptive students. Any students name turned in by a substitute will be dealt with in a timely fashion when I return to school. Disrespectful conduct to a substitute will not be tolerated.
